About Pramila Yadav, MD
Growing up in small Vermont town, I was raised along with my brother and sister by our immigrant parents who instilled in us a strong work ethic, a universal respect for human dignity, and a commitment to service. Some of the most impactful experiences while growing up was vising and spending time with my grandfather in India. With each of my many visits I was able to spend quality time with him and was witness to his lifelong devotion to public service and dedication to improving the lives of women in rural Northern India. With the support from my parents and the influence of my grandfather’s commitment to humanitarian causes my desire to devote my life to improving the health and well-being of women led me to becoming a doctor.
My undergraduate degrees where in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of Vermont, and I then furthered my studies at UVM earning my medical degree. I then moved to Boston to complete my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. After my residency, I began work at Brigham and Women's Hospital, with guidance and advice form my mentors I then decided to start my own practice. My practice was founded with the mentoring physicians that had served as great role models from the outset of my career, which has evolved into a private group affiliated with BIDMC.
I’ve spent my career over the past 20 years seeing women at all stages of their reproductive lives, delivering babies, performing gynecological surgery, and teaching residents and medical students. Every day, I’m reminded that there is no greater privilege than the opportunity to care for another human being. It is truly extraordinarily humbling to have their trust placed in me and to serve them.
Services

It is important to be up to date with your vaccines prior to pregnancy. If you are not immunized against live vaccines (including varicella, measles, mumps and rubella), we recommend receiving those vaccines at least 1 month prior to trying to conceive. During the Flu season, the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology recommend all pregnant women should receive the inactivated flu vaccine prior to the onset of flu season (usually the end of September/October).
